I'm learning. One step at a time.

Honestly this was a study for 'how to draw a kimono' then the space around it became 'put your darks forwards in space'.

The Japan theme is sticking with me... I may do more.

This style... it's just so beautiful. I think I like the background even more than the pony, although it's fairly good itself.

That kimono is beau-ti-ful! How do you make something that look so complicated?

Variety. Different kinds of patterns, plants, and telling a story with the object.

That makes sense. There is a lot of stuff on that dress but it looks cohesive.

I wonder how you start. Drawing a scene is hard enough. But a piece of fabric is like a scene that fold and bend. Is the pattern set in the mind when you start or do you make the dress outline and design the pattern around that.

The same way we always start, Pinkie, references. That isn't the same dress that I referenced, in fact it's completely different in color and style, and all the elements are different, but what is the same is the amount of variety and the fact that the dress is mimicing nature in some manner.

You make it sounds so simple. As if it is a matter of just looking at the picture and then just draw from it. Maybe the reality is just that simple and I'm just overthinking it.

With proper planning, and an investment of time it really is all that simple.

That looks beautiful. I love how she looks, quiet majestic.
I wouldn't mind to see more of this style.

The only think that bothers me alittle bit is the missing beginning of a Dirt path on the Mountain on the right side at the first Torii. But that's just me being nitpicking again^^
